Her mother worked as an accountant, and her father was a history teacher. Anna was raised in the home of her older brother Michael who later became an actor. Anna Kendrick began auditioning for Broadway shows at the age of ten. When she turned 12, her first performance as an actor in the theatre was High Society. She was an accomplished young actor, winning many nominations. Kendrick was nominated for both her performance and Rocket Science 2007, at the age of fifteen.
